A fascinating bow design created by bowhunters in extremely cold climates -such as Alaska and Siberia where natural glues tended to fail and bowmaking materials were not best quality (eg baleen, old barrel staves and Tamarack).
A system of knots and cordage (originally sinew) binds the bow and acts as a backing.
Ilustrated here is a bow with single cord backing (in this case coloured Dacron), with the back painted using natural pigments.
PRICE: £330
Painted £370
DEIVERY: due to problems with various couriers, collection in person is preferred. It aslo gives the archer a chance to try the bow at my range.
